Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise,
making the best use of the time, because the days are evil.
Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the will of
the Lord is.
Eph 5:15-17 ESV

Ahhh the wonderful world of time management.  To quote a 80's show - "pity the fool!"  Most of us do not like to be called names or being labeled.  Being called a fool or being foolish is hard to take at times.  Or should I say, realizing that I have done something foolish is tough.  I have been looking at time management and set a goal last week to wake up earlier so that I could focus on a few other goals I had spoke out loud.  Today being Monday, I safely announce that I have managed to wake up 20 minutes earlier then I normally do.  I would also love to announce that I jump up and attacked the morning with gusto, but alas not so. . .  I did stay awake and did move forward with getting ready and prepping for the day.  So I did use my time, but know I need to learn to make the "best use of the time."  I have plans to start a to do journal where I list the things I need to do and want to do for the day.  By listing them out and speaking them into existence I can start applying the concept of "best use."
As a pastor I've been asked about the will of the Lord quite often.  In the past my usually answer revolves around prayer (which is a great use of time), but I think this scripture makes the point - manage your time in a wise way, doing the best you can, and there will be a better understand of the Lord will in your life.

I would encourage all of us to better manage our time.

God Bless

Pastor Sam
